Creative Process
The creative process is the most important part of any good project. It allows a designer to be specific, creative, and continue to produce meaningful work.
Project Goal
The goal for this process was to design a publication from start to finish, including gathering content, images, printing, and production. I chose to do my publication on the cottages of Big Star Lake and the stories behind them. The name of the publication is called Lakeside Legacies.
Concept & Design
The first step in the process of creating this publication was deciding on a topic as well as creating a process book (not shown on this website). The process book helped me to organize my thoughts as well as come up with a plan for how I wanted the final to look. In the end I chose to make an 8in x 8in book with lots of airy space within the book. I also spent a large amount of time doing interviews, transcribing, and gathering pictures from the people I interviewed. I also printed and perfect bound these books right at Kendall (the college I attend). Scroll through the gallery below to see the final pages of my publication.
